We hope this letter finds you travelling well through time and space. As fellow travellers in the world of Doctor Who: Worlds Apart (DW:WA), we wanted to share some important news about the game's future.
Firstly, thank you for joining us on this incredible journey through the Whoniverse. We couldn't do it without you, and both of our two hearts are full of gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication.
Our primary goal has always been to provide the best gaming experience for our community and to achieve this, we believe that focusing our energies on the new gameplay version of DW:WA is the right way forward. Therefore, after much consideration, we have decided to sunset the current version of the game.
- At 3pm BST on Wednesday 20th September 2023, the current DW:WA gameplay version will no longer be available to download.
- At 3pm BST on Thursday 21st September 2023, the current DW:WA gameplay version will no longer be available to play.
These are the reasons behind our decision:
FOCUS: We want to concentrate our efforts on the new incarnation of the game. Supporting two different versions divides our attention and we believe that the new gameplay will offer the best experience for both our current and future community.
RESOURCE: Every update or fix to the current live game diverts our resources from the new game. We want to ensure that the new gameplay version of DW:WA is the best it can be.
COST: Hosting games is a significant investment. By focusing on one version, we can allocate our funds more efficiently towards developing a game that appeals to a broader audience and revitalises the tradable card element.
Looking ahead, we are incredibly excited about the new gameplay version of DW:WA due for release in 2024, and we’re confident that it will bring a fresh and enhanced gaming experience that you'll love!
Between now and the full launch there will be several opportunities for you to playtest and feedback on the new version of the game, and if you are a Founder's Token holder, then you will always have access to the new game in development!
